Valentines Parties

The kids had so much fun making yummy valentines treats for their classmates this year. Abby was a huge help during the day getting the pretzel and chocolate treats all ready to be bagged up. Emma and Peter helped with the last batch and Andrew enjoyed popping a few into his mouth. I loved being able to visit the girls classrooms this year. Abby’s class had different stations including making handprint hearts, eating fun treats, and opening up their valentines. Emma’s class had two art stations set up where they could create their own fingerprint artwork. Peter’s class had a contest for who created the best valentines box. I loved being able to watch the girls have fun with their friends and their teachers. Any excuse to enjoy something yummy is a good day!

Blue and Gold . Arrow of Light . Crossing Over

Tonight was the Blue and Gold Dinner for the cub scouts in our ward.  They had a really fun cowboy theme that everyone just loved.  There were lots of kids in cowboy boots.  Peter’s Webelos leader was even decked out in the most fabulous wig and cowboy hat.  All of the decor was so nicely done. There was even a watering hole where the kids could get drinks and an area where they could get their photos taken complete with fake moustaches.  The highlight of the evening for our family was when Peter and three of his friends earned their Arrow of Light and crossed over into the Boy Scouts.  Each of the Webelos participated in talking about the seven virtues of life during the ceremony.  Peter talked about justice.  We are so proud of Peter for all that he accomplished in the cub scout program and know he  will enjoy being with the boy scouts.

Emma's Art Party

This year Emma wanted an art party. It was so much fun creating all of the labels and coming up with some fun art activities. Each of the girls got their own art basket full of supplies and an apron. They created masterpieces on their canvases and painted their letters. It was so fun watching their creativity. We also had paper dolls and jewelry making but ended up not having time for those activities. We sent the girls home with their own jewelry kit to enjoy at home. For snacks the girls got to enjoy fruit kabobs, colorful licorice, trail mix, peanut butter balls, cupcakes, and lemonade in fun jars with fun straws. Emma loved having all of her closest friends from both church and school at her party. Her friends were sweet to give her such fun gifts. She got legos, money, books, and some crafty projects. It was a super fun day!
